FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING IN THE VET FIELD: My favorite thing about being a veterinarian is getting the opportunity to make my patient’s lives better. I love the variety and welcome a challenging case. I learn something new every day. As a veterinarian, I am constantly learning, growing and evolving. I couldn’t imagine being anything else.
HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK: I enjoy riding my horse, running, and going to the gun range
PETS: I have a 9 year old Heeler named Jewels, a 2 year old Australian Shepherd named Pistol, and a Quarter Horse named Mia.

HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK: I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, gardening, reading, and showing Lionhead rabbits with my son.
PETS: I have a German Shorthaired Pointer (Odin), Deutsch Drahthaar (Gutta), two Domestic Shorthair cats (Uggo and Björn), and various Lionhead rabbits.

Dr. Colette Levasseur was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. Following her graduation from the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1991, she practiced small animal medicine in Canada until 1999. She then decided to pursue her passion for emergency medicine and successfully completed a one-year internship in advanced critical care and internal medicine at a small animal referral practice in California. Colette then completed a three-year residency in emergency medicine and critical care in Texas.
Colette has special interests in small animal surgery, pediatrics, and radiology. She lives with her two cats and a golden doodle named Rooby.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING IN THE VET FIELD:
I enjoy getting to know animals and their families. There is nothing more rewarding to me than a visit by a recovered patient.
HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK: On my days off I am usually found on an outdoor adventure with my animals. I really enjoy trail riding my horse, and hiking with my dogs. Travel is another one of my hobbies, especially visiting with my family in Germany.
PETS: I have a horse named Sweet Sissy Slew ( nicknamed Lady), and share my home with two mutts named Jack and Daku, and a giant Sulcata tortoise named Lucy, that mows my backyard.
