What to Expect from Each Exam
Our team can help you create your puppy or kitten’s care and work with you to create a care plan for the future. We recommend puppies and kittens have a series of three initial exams that are 3-4 weeks apart. This will allow us to track your new pet’s growth, ensure proper development, and administer necessary vaccinations.
EXAM ONE
Exam one will take place when you first bring your pet to Creekside Pet Care Center. We typically see puppies and kittens for their initial exam at around 8 weeks of age, but if pets are under one year of age, it can be considered their first exam. In addition to a wellness exam, we will also administer your puppy or kitten’s first round of vaccinations, including:

EXAM TWO
Your puppy or kitten’s second exam will occur when they are about 12 weeks old. This is to allow our team to assess their growth since their initial exam. We will administer a second series of vaccinations which including the following:

- Deworming

- DA2PP (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza)

EXAM THREE
The third exam for your new pet will happen when they are about 16 weeks old. Our team will track their growth and discuss the next steps of your pet’s care as they continue to grow. We will also conclude their final round of their first series of vaccinations which include:

Spay/Neuter Your Pet
We recommend having all pets spayed or neutered. Every pet is different, and we will take each pet’s breed and age into consideration when making recommendations for this procedure in order to provide the best possible care for each pet.
HOW DO I SET A POTTY TRAINING SCHEDULE?
- Once you wake up in the morning
- Right before you go to bed
- After spending time in the crate
- Following a nap
- After eating or drinking
- Time between each potty break should be about 2-4 hours
HOW DO I CRATE TRAIN MY PUPPY?
- Dogs enjoy clean “home” areas and are less likely to have accidents
- Placing the crate near a door to allow for easy access during potty breaks
- Your puppy’s crate should be large enough for them to stand up, turn around, and lay down
- Don’t discipline your puppy for having an accident in the house
- Always give praise when they do something correctly
- Reward your dog by giving them treats, attention, and pets

How Often Should I Play with My Kitten?
- 20+ minutes per day
- Two times a day: in the morning and evening, if possible
